STALKERS
The Return of the Stalker… Print E-mail
Written by champion Stalker Willie the Waiter

Byron THE stalking action had gotten a bit slow in the rough old world of London in recent times, and I felt like I was letting the side down.   So when the opportunity arose to have a jar with the All Black's I was all over it like a fly on shit... (although need to work on my "photo face")!

The first to arrive were Byron, Luke, Norm and Rodney.  Now at this point I'm going to do a "Graham Henry "Reuben Thorne" maneuver and retract my statement that Rodney is small!  Dunno if he's been taking some growth pills or something (check out the size of his head in the pic!) but he's defo' bigger than when I saw him last..  Solid foker that's for sure!  Anyhoo sucked it up and told him I had my doubts about him but he'd proved me wrong.  Lucky, because I'm sure he gave a rats arse about what I thought anyway! Very Happy

So yes Winger, I suppose I should apologise to you as well..  But I won't, we'll just have a compromise, where we pretend I never slated Rodney...

Mixing with the Blacks Print E-mail

Sure, BMR had kindly posted the All Black's post match travel arrangements etc, but imagine my "surprise" rocking up to Gare du Nord to catch the 11.43 Eurostar back to Blighty (in a somewhat dazed and confused state, after spending most of the previous day and night on the turps, amongst some excellent people from the SF, who also adopt the attitude what happens on Tour, stays on Tour Very Happy !)when all of a sudden the All Black squad arrive looking like a group of wounded soldiers who have just been given a weeks leave from the front.  To say that it looked like they had just survived a battle, would not do them justice.

First up I saw Byron, who was sporting a massive shiner on his half-open left eye, I says to him, "give Justin hell next week mate!" he smiles and promises (if selected) that he will.

Sir Clive meets Dodge Print E-mail

Clive meets Sir Dodge I attended an event at Twickenham at which the great man spoke at length about his time as England coach, his successes and his failures, his own approach to the game that is International rugby and how he took England from the 6th ranked team in the world when he took over to World Champions, and some might argue, back again...

He also elaborated on his hopes and plans for the Lions and his plans for the future. Following his presentation I had the opportunity to grab the above photo and have a chat with him. He was very candid in his presentation and discussion and despite a request from Clive that everything discussed remained in confidence, I feel that at this point, there are no confidences to break. What follows is what I discovered:

Hard bastards don't smile… Print E-mail

Mr Robinson and BMRMaling and the giant BMR OK ,stalked Keith 'BRUTE' Robinson and Simon 'Mummas Boy' Maling today in Palmerston North - before heading out to my beloved Varsity grounds to see what was going on up there.

 More on that below.

I'm 1.78m tall and a wee slip of a lad at only 70 kg's - which makes me look a pipsqueak next to these two.

Had a wee chat to both of them. Keith wanted his photo with the Waikato jersey in the background, but couldn't do that cause Pretty boy Maling was being interviewed by TV.

Keith seems a real down to earth HARD BASTARD, and I certainly approve of him at All Black lock. A decent proper man's handshake as well.

Maling certainly seems a really nice fellow - but that is kinda it for me at any rate - not quite what you want at lock for the AB's. I know htat he is rated for his technical skills at lineout and he really does play the full 80 (if not injured) - but not that killer threat that you get with Robinson.

Thoughts from big Fitzy… Print E-mail

OK, sod of now Willie... Yep that's right the main man himself...  Had the opportunity tonight to share a beer (thanks Steiny and CCC) with Fitzy at the Canterbury Shield prize giving where he presented the London Kiwis with the Canterbury Shield for winning their comp.

Sheesh you talk about people that command an aura when they walk in the room, and Fitzy is one of them. Bbloody friendly guy, but Jesus in a group conversation he's got captain/leader stamped all over his head...  Bloody hell he must have been awesome giving a speech in the middle of the field. He loves taking the piss out of people too!

The funniest thing was meeting the guy was remember in some book (was it his own?) where it was talked about him being such a success at hooker was because he had such narrow hips... I know its sounds gay but you bloody notice how narrow his hips are compared to his upper body!
