Ai'i (n)-- the noise made by a rugby supporter when he realises the late substitute is about to throw the game away.

Balshaw, to be on a (ph.)—to be given chance after chance to come good but to still not care if you stuff up knowing that you'll always get another go. e.g. “I’ve made an awful mess of this but ‘tis of no concern to me, for I am on a Balshaw and cannot be dropped. 

Ben Blair, to (v) - being made to play above one's weight / age grade. e.g. “My son is 12 but the coach Ben Blaired him, and he has to turn out for the under 18s on Saturday.”

Bond (n.) - A match winning performance that your team manage to squander.

Bond (v.)—to single handedly win a game only to have your team mates screw it up for you.

Coutts, to (v.)—to forsake your country for the love of money.

Cribb, to (v.)—to combine sideways movement with a desire to chip kick at just the wrong moment.

Cullen, to (v.)—to whine interminably and sour the memory of your greatness (formerly to Campese).

Dominici, to pull a (ph.)-- to fumble at the last and most inopportune moment. e.g. “I met this bird in a pub and just after I finally convinced her to come home with me I pulled a Dominici.”

Dunning droppy, to pull a (ph.)-- The act of seemingly achieving a rare and astonishing feat which almost instantaneously turns to poo before your very eyes.

Eddie, to (v.)— to reel off inane and irrelevant statistics in order to ease pressure from stakeholders e.g. “My boss wanted the report on Friday, but I didn't know what I was doing, so I Eddied myself an extension by telling him that 46.7% of our clients were in breach of the company charter.”

English Rose, to win by an (ph.)—to win a rugby game without scoring a try.

Flematic (adj.)—of batsmen: to look like a million dollars until reaching a mediocre score and then to inexplicably throw it away.

Harrison (n.)— one who is spectacularly ugly but still has the ability to make himself or herself even uglier. e.g. “God she was ugly, but when she frowned I realised she was a Harrison."

IRB (n.)—something completely useless. e.g. “The surgeon was a complete IRB, he amputated the wrong leg.”

Isitola Maka (n)—a visual condition whereby objects in the rear view mirror may appear better than they are.

Kaplan (n.)—a unit of time of 8 minutes duration e.g. “I was supposed to be there at 5pm but I got there about 5 Kaplans late.”

Kyle, to (v.)-- to be winning a game easily so that it is almost impossible to lose it and then play so badly that you almost do lose it - but win it in the end.

League (n.)—a collection of four toey humans. e.g. “I am in a league at present and consequently am heading to a brothel.”

Macca (n.)—a moment at which a tactical decision is made which acknowledges the fact that a game is lost. Made famous by Fleming bringing on the Gifted One to bowl.

McCaw, to (v)—to perform miracle after miracle and still be compared to mere mortals. e.g. “Jesus was still McCawing as they dragged him through the streets.”

Merhtens (n.) -- a country-dancing step that involves sticking out an arm as your partner moves past you creating a twirl.

Mexted, to (v.)—to mix up in an unfortunate manner.

Mountaineering (n.)— over-vigorous rucking, achieved by attempting to ascend a pile of bodies from the opposition team, rather than clear them out of the way.

Thorpedo, to (v.) – to blow up and lose a certain victory in comical or farcical circumstances (cf. to Kyle).

Warabahs (n.)—a New South Wales rugby team who root sheep.

Wayne's myth (n.) –a mistaken belief that your job should be contestable.

Weepu (v.)- derived from the word Weep. The tears shed by an All Black coach when he realises his new young halfback would rather play League.
