The Lions were a new quantity in 2007. They had
the best finish in S14 in ages and went on to reach the CC finals. This year
they will go in their second year of a cycle and with a coach like Loffie Eloff
only one way UP. They’ll have a competitive forward pack, excellent losies and
a youngies backline.

My favourite to watch is Heinke van der Merwe , now ready to make the test step
up, Baywatch Grobbelaar, Vermaak, Jaco Pretorius, Jac Fourie, Ludeke and
Benjamin.
Challenges
The biggest challenge for the Lions is to handle the loss of their general,
Andre Pretorius. They also don’t have experience players to guide them.. . .
