/ Hayman - I want a front rower with a beard, and he is pretty handy in the scrum as well. Like my props big, good and quiet.. he fits the bill perfectly.

/ Fitzy -  Not the All Black captain fitzy.. the young brash 1987 version of Fitz, those 87 AB's personified the change rugby went through. And this young buck, called in to replace the old warhorse Dalton, was one if the new breed.

/ Woodcock - Strange choice I hear you cry! Maybe so, but I enjoy the thought that him and Hayman play so well together, these are the pair that made me confident in the AB scrum recently. I have enjoyed watching him play and help make the AB scrum a weapon again. Plus he doesnt say much... another massive tick when talking about props. I never worry about the AB scrum nowdays... salute!

/ Abdul Benazi - Absolute legend... well in my head anyway.. he was big, and he looked and sounded very foreign... which given he was a Moroccan Frenchie.. is not all that surprsing. Loved his name... and was always a favourite.

/ Murray Pierce -  Just like his no nonsense style,  never ever flashy, just held things together nicely. Every side needs an old head to steady things.

/Michael Jones -  Loved watching him play.. similar to Fitzy at 87 world cup. Softly spoken yet awesome on the field. Gave me some of my favourite rugby memories.

/ Richie McCaw - Whatever way you cut it, this lad is going down in history. Doesnt mind a bit of piss being ripped out of him, and aint bad on the field either.

/Wayne Shelford -  Bring back Buck! So I have. Plus he is a good Bay of Plenty lad.... anyone that can play on after having his nut sack ripped open is staunch in my book, this bloke doesnt appear to be hard like some other 8's.. he walks the walk... there is more to a game than looking tough at kick off time.....

/ David Kirk - Scored a try a WC final and captained NZ's only world cup winning side.... not to mention he is smarter than me in my pulling pants. He has held aloft the web ellis trophy wearing an AB jersey.....  respect.

/ Andrew Merthens -  1995 version... baby faced blonde kid who could really play this game of rugby. Plus he is one funny bugger.

/ Jonah Lomu -  Running over Mike catt .... enough said.

/ Aaron Mauger - You what???!! I hear you cry... nope I am not extracting the urine. He is the player I always wanted to be.. just that I was around 20 years before he was. All the skills I tried to have but never did have. This is an envy pick.

/ Frank Bunce -  Liked the way he played the game, came from pretty much nowhere to be a mainstay of the AB side of his era.

/ Christian Cullen - Out of position... but he is used to it. 96 Version of this lad.. cutting teams apart with the most amazing running I have ever seen on the rugby field.

/ Mathew Burke - Runner, Kicker.. as solid as a rock.. but most imporatntly seems like a dead set nice guy. Always wanted him to play well.. and consideting he is an aussie, thats speaks volumes.
