Boer View Round 11 Print E-mail
Written by Paarlbok
Monday, 16 April 2007

This round only one big surprise. The Sharks to win in Kiwiland a big plus for the Saffers. The way our teams played this year we are certain of one semi contender. The Cheetahs and Stormers join the bottom lot and the Lions still in with a last shout. The way the Bulls put away the Stormers in the Ring the favourate to join the top lot. Still 3 rounds left and a bit of rugby and drama ahead of us. Every round now the bottom will get more teams and fewer semi contenders.

Boer Calculator
After this weekend one nice correction with the unexpected Sharks win. The top lot Crusaders and the Sharks sift to second follow by the Blues. The 4th one undecided but look like a Bulls one to me. The others are the Chiefs and Brumbies. All of those just single points difference. The others in desperate must win them all from now is the Highlanders, Lions, Force and Hurricanes. The out of contention is the Stormers, Cheetahs, Waratahs and Reds.

Hurricanes vs Cheetahs
The Hurricanes live on the edge and another win for them. Credit to the Cheetahs to show they can play and not there to just make up the numbers. They only have proud now left to play for and have the Reds in the next round. If they keep up their form they can get their first tour win.

Chiefs vs Force
The Force still struggle from the Saders loss and really look like school boys vs men against the Chiefs. The Chiefs physicality was just to much for the Force. Gits the lonely star here for the Force. The Chiefs grew in every game and now have to play the top lot. A great battle on our hands vs the Sharks next week.

Blues vs Sharks
What a battle. This is the kind of rugby we all love to see. There must be a kind of niggle and fight and the Blues could not handle this. To much forwards in the backs and to much moaning when themselves don’t look like the clean billy. They did some silly stuff of the ball and that cost them at the end. The Sharks do the basic Saffer thing. Win the battle upfront and defend with your life. They keep the scoreboard ticking until they win the battle. They also had more forwards doing the hard yards and the youngster backs did what they have to. Their job is not finish yet and one more tour win they can start think about home semis. Fact is they are in the semis now.

Crusaders vs Highlanders
The Highlanders tried their best but that was not enough. This Crusaders side start to pull away from all opposition and look unstoppable. After 14 rounds they maybe even 10 points clear to the nearest rival and simply a champion side. The other Kiwi teams supporters can get the feeling we have when playing the All Blacks.

Waratahs vs Reds
The battle of the wooden spooners. The Waratahs win this win easily in the end. I hoped for a real nasty Aus battle but nowhere near that. The Waratahs was just more classy and really they all lack energy and fight spirit.

Bulls vs Stormers
So much promise from the Stormers at the start but really once again they look like schoolboys ala Force against the physical Bulls. Really when you play the Bulls you need grunt donkeys and no second full back locks and you cant play Bolla rugby. The Bulls are a force now and for the first time they put their best XV on the park. The way Spies, Roets and Olivier look battle sharp is just unbelievable. The Stormers start a comeback sparkle by des Fountain in the second half but at the end run out of steam. Schalk Burger fight a lonely battle against these Liefling brutes. This Bulls side look like business just at the right time. The Bulls have the Lions next week for the royal forward Saffer battle and the Stormers the Blues. They can do the Saffer semi contenders big favours.
