Boer Wrap Week 14 - YIPPIE! Print E-mail
Written by PaarlBok

Must agree this weekend was almost like the whole tournament. Lots of surprises and what a exciting weekend of rugby from the first game to the very last. This year is the best from a organizer point of view. We suffer for many a year and were on the receiving end from S14 semis, now finally the tide have change.

My deepest sympathy to the Chiefs and then the Brumbie supporters. It is not a great feeling doing everything you can to get there and then to fall out after the next match. The only positive thing about this is the knowledge your team go out on a winning and high note. Much better feeling then losing a final or semi final.

 Force vs Blues
Finally the Blues woke up. The Force falter again vs Kiwi opponents. Think Mitchell have something to do with it. After their SA nightmare the Blues turn their tables around. I’ll dedicate their win to Lucky Luke. Surely the missing link in their team so far. The Blues however will meet their nemenis team the Sharks in Durban and need something of a merical for that one. They have however nothing to loose and their coach have many experience of semis and finals.
Crusaders vs Chiefs
The Chiefs in winning this one not only breaking a long time loosing streak but also giving the Saffer supporters the change to experience the home semis. The Crusaders on their terms must be feeling a bit negative and down but never count these great team out. Expect them to give it their best to the Bulls. The Chiefs were great. From long time ago I thought they need just a bit of something to fire. Good luck for their teams in the Kiwi competitions.

 Highlanders vs Brumbies
Did not watch the game but a goodbye to many S14 legend oldies. The end of the likes of Hayman, Oliver, Larken and Gregan. We all going to miss them next year. Was surprised with the end result but congrats to the Brumbies for that win. The Brumbies would have been a big thread if they have qualified for the semis.

 Hurricanes vs Waratahs
This game the big surprise from the Waratahs. They did leave their best for last. A sad way for Umaga and kie to leave the S14 arena. The Waratahs did show some form in their last few games and a good ending to their S14 campaign.

 Lions vs Cheetahs
A no mean game and a typical Cats derby. Both teams played poor rugby and is the shadows of the teams that start this competition. Also the return of Os and CJ and they are in urgent need of games.
At the end the Cheetahs gave Rassie the go away he surely wanted with this win.

 Stormers vs Sharks
The Sharks showed why they end on the top of the log. They have one of the best packs and this exciting youngsters backline. Their mix of young and old is nicely balanced. The Stormers try their best after giving away two easy tries early. They missed a few changes to get their nose back in front and had the Sharks in tatters for a period. Schalk Burger had a big one once again and Watson and Joe not far behind. Grant also start like a house on fire. At the end the difference between the two teams was defense. The Sharks look like a brick wall. Good luck to them for the semis.

 Bulls vs Reds
This was another photocopy of their 2006 campaign. They come out with smoke in the nose and when you hit the ring and those brutes look like that there is no way in stopping them. I thought they will just try and play for 4th place to go to the Tank but no ways with those lot. They destroyed the Reds like easy pie and make us all proud as Saffers. Good luck you Blue brutes for the semis.

A dream finish for the Saffers and may it continue next week.
