photosport.co.nzI said before the S14 started the SA teams are going to be stronger this year and that I shall be satisfy if the teams performs better then in previous years.

After round five we can take stock and feel satisfy. We have lay the foundation with the home games after three rounds. We have build very important blocks in our  away games in round 4 and 5. The Stormers drop their first games and in round 5 our teams have made history to give us 3 out of 3 in their away games.

Take a bow Stormers, Bulls and Lions and keep building those blocks. Right back to round 5 matches.

 Cheetahs vs Chiefs

This game produce the perfect NZ vs SA game. This game once again showed what the two rival countries supporters want to see in a game of rugby. No mercy ask or give and a full out physical confrontation between the two sides. The Cheetahs looked down and out at one stage but with Os back and his dedication after a long lay off there was no such thing from this Cheetahs side. They fight back and took the lead and once again we saw a different kind of a Chiefs side. Both teams fought till the final second of the game to draw level. After such a performance from both teams both can take a lot of positives from this game. I expect to see the tables turned for the Chiefs. If they keep perform like this they are going to turn their season around. The Cheetahs also are going to be difficult opponent next week. Take note Sharkies.
Stormers vs Hurricanes.

For the first time this season the Stormers played to their potential. If their forwards get on even par with any opposition they are difficult to stop. Watson and Schalkie  played as a unit.  Grant and Barry  getting muscara and mud on the bodies and Jean showed his class. Well if this happen Paulse can start do his flip flaps.  Don’t really know what went wrong with the Hurricanes but once again some hard first time tackling can upset any player. When Nunu went I knew this is it. Never underestimate any team in this competition.

 Bulls vs Brumbies

When Bakkies and Guthro rejoin the Bulls they look like the old team. Last week they fought for survival from stuff  opposition from the Chiefs. A Brumbie side without Larken and Mortlock is never the same, specially against the Bulls. You have to intimidate them physically and play wide otherwise theres no way to escape. Thanks Bulls for breaking a long time loosing streak in the ACT territory.

 Lions vs Reds
This Lions team have come a bit this season. This team is like a fresh wind to all the Saffer supporters and is becoming a favourate to all. With general Petoors behind that pack they can beat any team. That last try showed a bit of class  and hopefully they will play from the first minute with width and fast backline moves. Keep up the hunger to win after many years of disappointing.

 Sharks vs Crusaders
The Sharks is still the only unbeaten team in the competition. That’s the only stat that matters. They are still not on a high and I am waiting for the day they hit that. A very close game and I cant help feeling for the Crusaders after the lost. They had this one in the bag and still wandering why they loose this one. Anyway the Crusaders is still the team to beat in the competition and they heading home now and one more round before the big guns return.

A biggest round for us in Super Rugby and hopefully the next round the opposition down under will start their games knowing the Saffers is no more the easy beats in this competition.
