Once again a round of mix success for our teams. A round where the NZ teams flex their muscles and made a big stepup from last week. From now on the teams that stabilize in their performances will get the reward and move to the top of the S14 log.
Highlanders vs Stormers:
This game once again prove the Stormers stupid coach. It took him 2 rounds of losses to put his best prop on the field, Brok Harris. It took him nearly 4 rounds before he put his best lock on the field, big Flippie van der Merwe’s son, Francois to play 15 minutes and score a unscorable try and put up another one. He need grunt in this team and once again Schalk Burger is the only one to play like a demon, but no one follows. The only positive from this game was the last period when the Stormers look like a team. The Highlanders deserve this win and play the teacher like ref perfectly.
Lions vs Force:
This game showed what needs to be done to win a game of rugby. Forget about the oppositions names and play what is in front of you. Do the basic right and keep the ball. At last the Lions will get the respect they deserve. This young team is on their way to where they was never before as a group of youngsters. With general Petoors back they can get to the highest level and all the opposition wont call them the Cats again. A very important brick has been laid for the Lions.
Bulls vs Chiefs : When these two teams meet you know this is going to be SA beef vs NZ beef and a fearsome battle. I feel really sorry for the Chiefs in this game. They have played the perfect game to beat the Bulls in the ring and loose this one in the last second. With Robinson and the big nr 8 back the Chiefs look different team. Ditto Bulls with Bakkies back. Both teams can take enough positives from this match to start play to their potentials.
Cheetahs vs Crusaders. The game of the weekend. The Crusaders once again showed their class and the Cheetahs showed they can play like the Vrystaat of previous years. One week brilliant and then the next week like nothing. The one thing they have lost in this game was the defense. Look like Aplon and Burger loose everything in this weekend. The Crusaders had a unforgettable game on Saturday and it look like the same team that played a year back in the Bull Ring. They would even have beat the All Black A team. So it was not that the Cheetahs was that bad but more they was trounce by a excellent side. Rassie will get his troops together and it is time to bring the old warriors Os and Ollie back to get things back on track.
