Apologies to the millions of fans out there, for not getting our experts tips online on time. They were all submitted to me, so here they are now, and the running totals, to date, of our experts. Donsteppa and his $2 crystal ball have edged out to a 2 point lead over True Blue, with the TAB slipping into third place. The Mingster and NTA hold down the back of the field, but are only 4 off the pace. Mings blind faith in the Blues proving his downfall at this stage. The TAB and DOnsteppa managed to land 6 results from 6 this week. That makes up for the TAB's 2 from 6 in week 6, that really screwed up my picks, having decided to follow the TAB that week, muggins me.
True Blue No reasons, just picks from our second placed Saffa!
The Mingster Hurricanes v Sharks Should be an easy win for the Hurricanes I predict, especially with the home advantage against the South African side. Will be interesting to see how Gopperth performs on his return to the XV. Waratahs v Blues Should be a stroll in the park for the Blues, after a much improved effort against the Brumbies which would have given them confidence for this clash. Auckland have named a very big pack for this clash, with a loose trio of N Williams, MacDonald and Flavell as well as an All Black front row. Watch out for Luke McAlister at second five. Cheetahs v Reds Brumbies v Chiefs Highlanders v Cats Disappointing game last week against the Sharks, where Bruce struggled to stamp his mark on the game. Highlanders will be bolstered by the return of Blackie, who was influential at the Commonwealth 7s. Force v Bulls
Donsteppa Right! Guesses this week from the Donsteppa $2 Crystal Ball are: Hurricanes vs Sharks: Canes in a close one. I dithered for a while over whether the Hurricanes will do a Highlanders in their first game back vs. how long the Sharks can hold their game on the road... Warratahs vs. Blues. Another close one, I'm going with the home team in the 'Tahs. Cheetahs vs. Reds: Comfortable win to the Cheetahs. Brumbies vs. Chiefs: Heart says Chiefs, Head says Brumbies. Given the game is in Canberra and the Chiefs haven't beaten the Brumbies since 1999, I'm going to sadly tip the Brumbies in a close one. Highlanders vs. Cats: Should be a comfortable win to the Highlanders Force vs Bulls: Bulls in the only away win of the weekend from my tipping.
Nick the Aussie Sharks to beat Canes by 3 Reckon the Canes will be knackered from the trip back and impact of the Bulls. The Sharks really finished off the Clan well last week. They seem to be enjoying their time away from home this year, having already snaffled 6 points from three games on the road. Waratahs by 6 over Blues Even with a heavy track (rain in Sydney today) the home side will have just enough to finish over the Blues up front and stifle them in defence, but the odd runaway try will happen. Cheetahs by 14 over Reds Reds are missing Latham and he's worth 5 points a game on his own, and another 5 through inspiration. The pussycats have a bloody handy pack which will give the travelling rookie Reds a genuine workout. Brumbies by 10 over Chiefs Ponies will be a different prospect at home and the battle of the back three should be a cracker in this one. Highlanders by 7 over the Cats A week at home will right the ship for the Clan, and even without Evans they'll win because, let's face it, the Cats are poo. Bulls by 6 over Force The trip away always takes the Bulls down a notch, and the boys from Perth will be eager to get stuck into them. While they have a more settled backline, the Saffers have the hamstring of Hougaard at 10, while the Force pack will be looking to compete up front and let guys like Ioane, Staniforth, and Graham blast into the Bulls' midfield where Olivier looks decidedly shaky on defence. Habana will score the winning try.
TAB Got them all right this week, well done! |
