And the reasons behind these picks, if any. Donsteppa has leapt ahead of Ming this week, cashing in on Ming feeling the need to tip the Blues. NtA on the rise as well while True Blue is determined to keep picking the underdogs (aka any team from South Africa!). | Donsteppa Chiefs vs Crusaders: Crusaders. I'm picking they'll win by either less than 5 or 25 plus. Chiefs will either stand up and fight or fall over completely - no middle ground from this tipster!
Warratahs vs Cats: Warratahs easy.
Brumbies vs Sharks: Ditto the Brumbies.
Red vs Force: Reds comfortably by around 12-15. (Unless the Reds get bored...)
Bulls vs Highlanders: Have changed my mind on this about 8 times. Highlanders in the closest game of the weekend.
Stormers vs Hurricanes: 'Canes - just. | | True Blue Have been away a conference all week so will just send through the tips without the supporting bollocks for week 5...
| | The Mingster He's lost the lead and is still silent. | | Nick The Aussie Well it appears to be a straightforward week for the tipsters as the cream rises to the top:
Chiefs v Crusaders This will be a lot tougher than people think, and it will only be the Crusaders' trademark 20 minute burst that gets them about 15 ahead of the Chiefs at the final whistle
Waratahs v Cats Again some caution from the Tahs fans as the Cats have been quite competitive for long stretches. Still, the Tahs should finish well over the top of them having hopefully learned from last week's game where the Brumbies dropped a lot of ball. Tahs by about 18
Brumbies v Sharks Sharks have lost their way a little and could be competitive if they hang onto the ball, but the Brumbies are another week into training and should have the execution a lot better. Brumbies by 21
Reds v Force Match of the round? Depends what you're looking for. I think the Reds should get up here by about 6 - it'll be an ugly 6 too.
Bulls v Clan Favouring the Clan fatties to nullify a Bulls pack that is still below its best even with Matfield and Botha back. Clan in a close one - 7 points as the kickers go head to head at altitude.
Stormers v Hurricanes The Canes really missed their suspended bloke last week I reckon, and with them back they'll sneak a win. Canes by 5. | | TAB Chiefs $3.70 v Crusaders $1.25 Might be worth a small punt on the Chiefs at those odds, they fired up last week and will be sure to throw everything at the Crusaders early on. If they had a reliable kicker, I would definitely recommend a lazy $10.
Waratahs $1.08 v Cats $7.00 The Cats haven't had a towelling yet on their travels but then again have never looked remotely like winning a game. Expect the trend to continue.
Brumbies $1.11 v Sharks $6.00 The Sharks disappointed against the Tahs and expect the Brumbies to be too clinical again this week.
Reds $1.22 v Force $4.00 Neither side has won a game so far so maybe the draw is the way to go. Expect the game to be tight but the Reds to have the spark to create the tries to seal a comfortable win.
Bulls $1.60 v Highlanders $2.25 Can the Clan do the three-peat in the republic? They look solid and have shown enough spark in the backline to create tries. Bulls the best of the South African teams though and will need to win to keep their top 4 hopes alive. Maybe a small punt on the Highlanders worthwhile.
Stormers $2.20 v Hurricanes $1.62 The Canes should have put the Cheetahs away last week and will have to avoid the charitable donations this week. I quite fancy the Stormers in this one as the Canes have shown the fragility we all expect! | |
