Major Rage's Favourites XV Print E-mail
Written by Major Rage

Seems to be the thing to do and I'm as bored as batshit at work, so thought Id put one together...

15. Todd Miller.  Yep, that's right he aint the best, but he's ina tie with the cullen for the amount of times he had me screaming at the TV in sheer joy.  Go you good Mormon thing.  Also's... Cullen, Latham

14. Bryan Williams.  Speaks volumes that I have only ever seen him play for about 20 minutes on a dodgy DVD found in the WareWhare and he's on my list.  Smoothest, silkiest running I've seen.  Also's... Norm Berryman, Tuigamala

13. Frank Bunce.  My favourite player ever.  No explanation necessary.  Also's... Tana, Gibbs, BOD, Mortlock (I think centre is my fave position)

12. Tim Horan.  Arguably the best 12 that's played in my lifetime, if not ever.  Solid as a rock, An Aussie team with Tim was always a threat, no matter what.  Loved to hate him.  Also's... Walter Little, Mark Ranby (yeah...)

11. Jonah Lomu.  I debated this one for a long time, because Caucau I preferred to watch but he's a lazy talent-wasting bastard, and Jonah is the hardest working, most determined person on the planet.  Also's... Caucau,

10. Stephen Larkham.  Arguably the best rugby player I've seen.  Longivity, unbelievable running & passing skills, and apparently not a bad bloke off the paddock.  Also's.. DC, Michalak, O'Gara (never seen a player so heavily criticized & perform admirably)

9. Fabian Galthie.  Quick, exciting, legend of the game.  What else can I say?  In my opinion, HB is one of the weaker positions around the globe.  Hats off to Gregan, Farr-Jones etc but none of them have really excited me.  Also's... Sid Going (see Bryan Williams for career coverage), Rhys Duggan

8. Zinzan Brooke.  As a massive fan of Buck Shelford I didn't warm to Zinny very quickly.  However, the performances of his later career could warm up an igloo. Those dropgoals, the passes whilst reamaining a hard bastard.  Great, entertaining rugby.  Also's... Buck, Isotolo Maka.

7. Josh Kronfeld.  As kiwi's we really are spoiled with openside flankers, my pick would be Josh.  Unbelievable work rate, gave his guts and plays a mean harmonica with Midge Marsden & Bullfrog Rata.  Also's... Richie, George, Schalk (has the global standard of 7's ever been higher?)

6. Jerry Collins.  Like most of the TSF contingent, one of my fave ABs of the moment.  Humble bloke, feet on the ground and an inspiration to so many.  As well as being a serious hard bastard  Also's..Jason White

4/5. Ian Jones.  One of my earlierst memories is watching Kamo score on debut.  Solid, hard, tall & not a bad commentator to boot.

4/5. Martin Johnson.  You utter bastard.  Why didn't you stay in NZ?  Also's.. Eales, Keith Robinson, Pelous

3. Rodzilla.  What I know about propping, you could write on a pinhead, but this bloke plays rugby with a a massive smile on the dial & generates excitement.  That's enough for me. Also's... Woodcock, Brown

2. Fitzy.  Goes without saying really, had the honour of hearing him speak and meeting the bloke.  Inspirational player, inspirational person.  More pride in the AB jersey than you think is possible.  Awesome.  Also's... Kearns, Wood

1. Kees Meeuws. Mexted once described him as a V16 diesel or something like that which I reckon sums him up.  More than a handy player, scores a few tries and fun to watch.  Also's... Hayman, Leonard.

I think my props are off on the number, but I have no idea!
