NZ Cricket wants you... Print E-mail

New Zealand cricket need a coach?  Well the TSF has collectively decided to stick their Necks out and apply - to find a better candidate will be a tough job for NZ Cricket, but I am sure they will try...

Read on for the application, penned by our head of selectors, Donsteppa.

Justin Vaughan
Chief Executive
New Zealand Cricket
Christchurch

Dear Justin,

The collective intelligence, skills, and coaching credentials of the cricket fans on www.thesilverfern.com make us the perfect candidate for the job. Our members have offered advice, technical analysis, and critiqued game plans of all tests and one day internationals involving New Zealand, Australia, England, India, and South Africa since 2003.

We would bring to the position proven communication skills. Our track record in speaking before we think and developing outlandish conspiracy theories is as comprehensive as that of the incumbent coach. Our media liaison skills are beyond reproach due to the journalists included in our number, people management skills are second nature to our moderators, and we would bring to the role passion and commitment that only those driven to increasing their total post count can ever possess.

The area in which we are unsurpassed is in our ability to achieve world class results. Every international team who has followed our collective wisdom has gone on to win, and our Twenty20 hindsight is always superb. Our attention to detail is peerless - the many talents within our ranks are so wide ranging that they even include a mascot.  Like John Bracewell and Graham Henry we believe in being judged on our results, and while our selection meetings are lengthy, we will settle for being flown Business Class.

Our CV is available electronically at www.thesilverfern.com. We look forward to meeting you for a group interview.

Yours sincerely,
The Silverfern.
