Saffa Preview : Round 2 Print E-mail
Written by PaarlBok

smylie090207This weekend is also a very difficult one to predict winners. Why? Because we have again this local derbies, one in Hamilton and the other in the bull ring.  All the games in round two are difficult.

 CHIEFS vs HURRICANES
First up we have Chiefs vs Hurricanes. Last week both teams disappoint but this week is going to be different. The pressure will be full on for the Chiefs and they have to win this one. Forget about names on paper they will have to produce. Chiefs by 1-8

 STORMERS vs WESTERN FORCE

Then SA start of with the local Stormers  game against their first overseas opposition. The Stormers was humiliated by the Cheetahs last week. The Western Force also even at home. This is the one game every Stormer supporter expect them to win. These two teams have amazingly similar set ups. Hot backlines, with not so hot forwards. The little bit of a advantage on the backs for the Force , the little bit the Stormers have in the loosies. On Paper a 50/50 but on Newlands the Stormers have a big advantage. Rain or sunshine if they play with the heart and passion we know they have it’s a Stormers ballgame. Stormers by 9-16

SHARKS vs WARATAHS
Another SA vs Aus clash. The Sharks look great last weekend. They absorbed the Bulls pressure and picked up a win. They will be on a high. The Sharks team look great right through, the backs and forwards. The Tahs had a low key game against the Lions. They will have to play a few notches higher to combat this Shark team. If the Sharks kept their feet on the ground this is a easy pick. Sharks by 9-16

 CRUSADERS vs REDS

The Crusaders still looking good without their All Blacks last week against the Blues. The Reds look like not the one we were use to in previous years. This game is in Saders territory and the will get my vote. Crusaders by 9-16

 BRUMBIES vs BLUES

The Brumbies were great last week in Chiefs territory. The old ones keep coming back. The Blues also had a stunner , the best game of week1, against the Crusaders and rewrite some history to outplay the Saders. This is my only Aus pick. Brumbies by 9-16

 BULLS vs CHEETAHS

This is going to be some game and forward battle par excellence. The Cheetahs showed promise last week by using those outside backs. This game they have to do it again. The Bulls will still leaking some Shark wounds. Like the Stormers it is a must win game. They are in familiar playground the ring and is always a big force there. It is time to show their worth with the backline and the Sharks did get away in the early stages with some stupid Bulls handling errors. This wont happen again and the Blue machine will be on his meanest in this game. Bulls by 9-16

 LIONS vs HIGHLANDERS
The Lions played with great heart last week. The Highlanders have one of the best packs and always put up a big show in SA . The battle of the young Lions props against a good scrumming side I’ll watch with eagerness. The Lions have Luddick at 15 and some talent . Can the Lions better last week showing and beat the odds. Of course they can, my money on the Lions only just. Lions 1-8

My predictions say it is Saturday night time to light the fires. Go get those chops and boerewors.
