Saffer Preview : Round 7 Print E-mail
Written by PaarlBok
Wednesday, 14 March 2007
We enter the important stage of half way in the S14 and some important games looms in round 7. A Home loss now and it can mean the end of the home teams as semi contenders. This week there is only one Aus derby and we have two SA vs Aus and SA vs Kiwi battles.

 Chiefs vs Lions
The Chiefs will go full out to get their first win. The Lions still leaking wounds after the Blues loss will try to notch their third tour victory to make more history. It will be a big test for their character and their coach abilities like never before in this season. They come up against a Chiefs team , without a win but on a upwards form curve and a big physicality test for the youngster Lions team. If they can get past this one with honour they can be satisfied. Nothing to loose for them. My prediction is that the Chiefs will take it 12+

 Force vs Reds
Again the Aus derby. Please we don’t mind the winner but don’t give us that dull game like the one we had between the Reds and Brumbies. The Aussies will hope for a Force victory here because the Force is the Aus frontrunner and a lost may end their aspirations. I’ll settle for a Force victory here but only just. Force -12
Crusaders vs Bulls
This maybe the game of the weekend. The Crusaders had a decent tour and a bye. The big boys will be in the pavilion the last time and the youngsters have a last time to impress. The Bulls form is high at the moment and will play the bully game that works for them. This game we see Fourie du Preez as captain and on form. If the Bulls forwards dominate this game they can get revenge for last years two losses. I predict a Crusaders win 12+

 Waratahs vs Stormers
What can we expect from this game? Will the Stormers play their usual unability game or will they switch on and take our breaths away. Nick Mallet will watch this game with eager eyes and the team is under immense pressure. The Waratahs form is the baddest I have see for years. They pick a wing in 13, a 15 in 14 and so on. If the Stormers forwards can give that backline ball they will have a ball. Their defense have to be big on Tiquiri and Tinuri and I expect just maybe the usual intercept. Stormers never had a better change to beat the Tahs. Stormers only just -12

 Cheetahs vs Brumbies
The Cheetahs look like the SA side going down. They are still at home and dropping games. They had many injuries but this game they have to stand up and produce. The Brumbies will be on a high, thanks to the Stormers and will play the usual ball in hand game. This game will depends on Willems boot. the defense of the Cheetah backline and the return of Os. Cheetahs +12

 Sharks vs Hurricanes
The Hurricanes drop the Force game, losing heavily against the Stormers but still a team that can run any team rugget. The Sharks winning all their games and start to show real form. They have the pack to dominate this game and the backs to get even with the Hurricanes. If the Sharks keep their form a easy win for them, if they give the Canes a change they’ll pay. Sharks+12

 Enjoy the rugby.
