Describe yourself in 25 words or less:
Early thirties, young family, urban professional. So
basically I work in an office in Wellington and have a wife and kids. I like
sport, but now only play golf. An armchair fan I guess.
What international rugby team do you
support and why? New Zealand - I am a New
Zealander
What Super 14 team do you support and
why? Hurricanes, though an Aucklander by birth I
grew up mostly in Wellington and the S12 kicked off while I was at Uni
(Victoria)
What's the biggest challenge facing
rugby? Professionalism. NZ is rugby resource
rich, but financially poor. The NH is looking to replicate the soccer model in
Rugby - I don't think this will work.
Who was the game's greatest ever
player? Michael Jones - he could do it all.
How about non-NZ players? Who were/are
the greatest? John Eales - he could almost do it
all.
The best match you have ever seen?
1987 World Cup final
The best try you have ever seen?
Cullen vs Aussie at Carisbrook from a Zinzan pass
What position did you play, if you
played, in rugby? Lock, blindside and centre
What do you like about the Silverfern?
People with various opinions, ages, outlooks that
share a passion for rugby and the ability to spend vast amounts of time on line.
I like the 'other' forum as well.
How could the site be improved?
Not sure - pretty good I reckon.
Who's your favourite poster?
Some of the old school ones - Hooroo, TR, BSG Phooey etc
Who's the worst poster?
there is a smug aussie and a bigoted jaapie - not sure who is worse.
How could the game of rugby be
improved? Rucking. Stop tinkering. Rugby tours
What rugby player would you turn gay
for? Would never happen.
Non-rugby questions now: Favourite
music? Most music, bit of a Pearl Jam fan
Favourite book?
A Fortunate Life, Viv Richards autobiography and Mark of a Lion - there are
plenty.
Favourite Film?
Deer Hunter, Crash, Life is Beautiful - there are plenty.
Biggest lifetime regret?
None really - I guess giving up cricket while at Uni was a mistake - should have
kept playing. I came back a weaker player and then was not able to play when I
lost my thumb.
Greatest hope?
That my two boys grow up healthy.
