The good, the bad, and the ugly Print E-mail
Written by Angry Man Moe
Thursday, 14 June 2007

Hello boys and girls, Angry Man Moe here, been absent for a while, as there has been nothing to be angry about, as the All Blacks keep winning, and the Warriors keep losing, hence the worlds balance is correct.  But the chance to use the title from a Clint Eastwood movie was too good to pass up.

The good, Warren Gatland staying in New Zealand.

The bad, David Nucifora staying in New Zealand.

The ugly, Ernesto Bertarelli, and his bitching about Kiwi's still holding a grudge about him stealing Kiwi's to sail, SAIL for Switzerland, the landlocked European country, defending the America's Cup.

Now don't get me started on the America's Cup, as BartMan said in the Berty thread on the Forum, it's a farking joke now, not about Nation v Nation, but wallet v wallet.  Rich bastards (too right I am jealous, I want to be a rich bastard too), trying to get bragging rights by winning a boat race that HAD great traditions, but is now just a bragging rights contest, nothing more, no national pride on the line.  Yachting in general is a rich pricks sport, and this is the zenith of that prickness.  Is my dislike of sailing showing out here, I am trying to hide it.

The good.  Warren Gatland signing with Waikato for the next two years.

The Blues job has gone the way of Nucifora, so that avenue to get to a higher coaching spot is closed, which is good news for Waikato.  Waikato are the defending NPC champions (yes, I know, it is now the Air New Zealand Cup, but the abbreviation of that ANZ Cup make you think that the ANZ bank is sponsoring the Cup, so new abbreviation, or NPC, either way, Air New Zealand doesn't get the plug, but who gives a shit, back to Waikato, the champs), and I am thinking that Gatts wants to put their name on the new trophy for a year or two more.  That's keep him interested for a season or two before All Black and Super 14 positions come up for grabs.

Great news that top coaches are staying on in New Zealand though, Gatland and Deans both sticking around is a double bonus.  A ready made coaching duo for a higher level.  One would hope so, as the pairing that looks after the Junior All Blacks at the moment, Ferrit Foster and Colin Cooper, shit don't let that pair anywhere near the All Blacks, unless they need baggage boys.

The bad.  Nucifora and his Gestapo method of man management remains at the Blues, for TWO MORE YEARS.

FFS, the man is a pillock.  He takes the Brumbies to a title no less, but the players move him on, as he is munted and the players obviously not happy.  Mind you, they then get Colonel Sanders to coach them instead, so maybe they are not right in the head over there.  That goes without saying I supose, they are Convicts after all.

Then at the Blues, he refuses to play All Blacks that are up there with the best in the world, and gets one sent home from South Africa, before a semi final no less, as he is slightly pissed off to be not playing.  Then the slightly pissed off player, Williams, plays one and a bit tests for the All Blacks, and makes Nucifora look pretty stupid, as does the play of the less pissed off, but even more talented Rokocoko.  Williams would have been close to MOM in the first Froggy test, and the Rock would have been in the second too.  Good call Nuci, you master coach you/

Would the Blues have won their semi final had this pair been playing a few weeks back?  We'll never know, but I bet their chances of a win would have been a damn site better than they were.  This might be good for Waikato too, Ali Williams locking a scrum with Keith Robinson, that sounds tasty.  The main reason to give Nuci the arse though, other than he being a crap coach and man manager, is that he is a filthy Aussie, and is taking the job that Gatland should have - now there is a man who can get the best out of players.

The ugly.  Rich bastard Ernesto Bertarelli, and his crying that the nasty pissed Kiwi's are calling his sailors names.  What does he expect, farking roses and bottles f wine sent to their tables?

The sailors in his team are traitorous mercenary bastards.  Sure it's been "seven years" Ernie, but "Let it be, let it go", I don't think so.  Just because time has passed it does not stop something being what it was.  The Eiffel tower in France has been the tower for what, a hundred and twenty odd years, and it is still the tower isn't it.  It hasn't changed into a frikkin bridge has it you twat.  Or a more relevant point, a murder is a murder is a murder forever, be it one year ago or 20.  Berty though, mustn't know his Kiwis very well, as grudge holding is a national past time...

Buggered if I know how Berty got rich though, as he is thick as pigshit, saying that a Kiwi win would put three quarters of the people around the harbour out of work.  Should the Kiwis care?  Fark no, all those jobs in New Zealand that were lost, and Berty didn't care about will be back on deck again.  So the Kiwis, for the sake of other Kiwi saliors, should throw the race.  Fark sake, with sense like that transferred into the business world, well, it is obvious that Berty does not make many decisions himself, other than deciding what tie to wear in the morning...

I think JP summed it up best on the Forum."Bertarelli just sounds like a rich git that's used to getting everything he wants and seems stunned that not everybody in the world loves him and his money - or the Kiwi's he's bought to race for him"

Not very angry was it, I must be getting old.
