The test of IFS? Print E-mail

We had this unbelievable and best S14 series in history this year. That made it clear that we have the player platform to launch to the WC in France. I had a plea at Jake White to get us the best 30 player group for the WC in the start of the internationals. He did this unforgivable deed by plugging his best 20 players from the 3 Nations to the moaning and groaning from all rugby supporters. He pick a team this weekend to face the might of the Aussies.

The Aussies just beating the All Blacks against all the odds at home except myself. They played a good test against the Boks at Newlands and like we all know a intelligent game. Well this weekend Larken and Gregan played their last game at home and everyone expect them to destroy this Bokke team.

After 15 minutes the seem impossible look like happening. I was thinking to myself 49-0 look on the cards.  Everything look like running the Boks way. This was a game for the taking for the Boks. This Bokke B or C or D or E team was playing better then the Bokke A team in that 15 minutes and near the end.

So let me start by if Honiss had glasses for a start. He gave the Wallabies two tries and one certainly he should have gone upstairs. Then he decided to dish out yellow cards. One for a hooker showing he have poofball skills. For that alone he should have applause Gary Botha. The second yellow for Muller nobody knows. Seeing knock ons only one way. Sorry Honiss get your act together before we do a Dickenson France on you. Its not the first time we played Aus and you showed no clue. Stop acting like a schoolmaster Brother and let the players play.

My next if was that midfield combination of the Boks. Breytie show there is no replacement for experience. If we could have a Barry / Joubert Paarl Gimmie combination on Saturday that midfield defense should have been water tight. Anyway it is time for Murray and Olivier to produce otherwise Jake will have to fall back on the old trusted because experience win the big ones. A Barrit or Grant in 12 would also may have done the trick. By the way when Grant enter near the end it looked much better in the backs. This guy is a must for the All Black test. He is not a big punter but he can tackle and know how to get his backline going.

OK the Aussies had won this test by some grinding method but for anyone discarding any Bok team I’ll tell him keep doing that. At least we have giving the Aussies old age home a good sent off, but only just.

By the way the Aussies surely we don’t have to fear for France. At the end if this this plus the first 15 minutes gave me assurance we will have the better of them.

We needed 10 more players for the WC according by reports , Breytie, Ruaan, Gary Botha, Muller and my man of the match Wikus gave us already five from test 1.

This weekend will be very difficult. Now Ackers and Bobby Stinkstert gone its going to be some effort just to stay in touch against a All Black team hunger to put their own game right. One week is a long time in rugby specially at this stage of the season. The Boks need to up their game and Jake must be spot on with his selections. I will love to see Heinke van der Merwe, Kabamba Floors, Peter Grant and Jaco Pretorius in that team.

Cant wait for Saturday!
