George Grogan : Photosport.co.nzI got to see all teams play this week and with the Reds having a rest, and given two of the teams played each other, it makes the selection picture quite easy as the Brumbies forwards generally got a hammering at any rate!

Benn Robinson - upset the much more fancied Fitter. Bill Young, you're looking more a dud every week.

Adam Freier - close call but his scrum and lineout upset the Force and Cannon was on the recieving end.

Al Baxter - not a massive performance from the big lad but better than Fitter, Henderson, or Shepherdson.
Al Kanaar - a try, aggressive defence and a heap of toe.

Dan Vickerman - default pick every week but always proves why that's so. Honourable mention to rookie Pat O'Connor who was not disgraced playing against such stiff competition.

I honestly can't pick one because they were all fairly ordinary. Palu and Heenan didn't run like they usually do, and Pusey was largely doing the standard grind work.

George Smith - none of our opensides really stood out this week but Smith showed he's good even in a retreating pack.

Richard Brown - the Force youngster ran hard and straight all night and was faultless on attack and defence.

George Gregan - despite the Brumbies being generally poo, I thought Gregan still provided a heck of a lot of life for the ACT backline.

Steven Larkham - same as George - in a beaten team still bloody good.

Wendell Sailor - two tries, bustling runs against what was a pretty good Force defensive unit, and gave back a few big hits himself. Can't ask for more than that.

Scott Staniforth - the veteran of that backline showed some nice touches and hard running when required. Also a great defender when it comes down to it. Berne was second, with Fairbanks a distant third.

Stirling Mortlock - only just over Josh Graham from the Force actually. Stirling's inbuilt habit of rushing out of the line gave the Blues holes to run into but he was good on attack. Graham's defence was excellent all night and showed good hands.

Clyde Rathbone - constantly got over the gain line and took blokes with him. Great try too.

James Hilgendorf - the little chap from the Force made more than a few incisive runs and was good under the high balls and kick recovery work that came his way.

Like it or lump it.   NTA.
