@rancid-schnitzel nice straw man
Not sure it's that much of a straw man ... it's @Canerbry after all ...
Of the AB non-selections - I think George Bridge made the biggest statement, followed up by a couple of nice busts from Savea elder. Both completely outplayed BLAM who was disappointing. I thought
Of the newbies - was impressed by Blackadder his energy and workrate in the conditions added some punch, Lousi has the attributes and at this stage just has to keep working hard, and for mine, I rate Makalio, think he could be one to watch.
Of the ABs named - think the biggest statement was made by Mo'unga, directed play nicely and didn;t go into his shell, but kept on pressing. Goodhue as well added some power to midfield, and Laumape tried his heart out. The pimply giraffe was a mixed bag, better in tghe 2nd half.
Disappointing - Riccitelli, Havili, B Barrett.
Invisible - BLAM
Good post Trooper.
Not disagreeing about Laumape's effort (and am fanboi) but thought Saders contained him pretty well.
(gravel reheating, regarding, edge repairs, was out repairs) as opposed to a construction or reconstruction.
How do you cook the gravel?
Bloody phone has taken to auto correcting. Must be the updated android software.
Admittedly there were times when you just left it out on the road and it got hot all by itself ... 48 deg one day in summer ...
Going back to the airline to regional centres thing.
Am over in Enzid at the mo (Mum's 90th).
Flew from Akl to Kaitaia on Great Barrier Air yesterday evening.
There were 4 people on the flight. One of them was the pilot.
Forget the exact cost ... $160ish IIRC.
So 3 x $160 is not going to pay pilot's salary, the ground crew at Akl or Kaitaia, the fuel for the tiny little 12 seater we flew up on... etc ...
Air NZ doesn't have planes small enough to service a route like that.
Fun flight though (digressing).
The most incredible 360 deg views of Auckland at night (6pm departure) (beats those tiny little windows of bigger planes). Watching the pilot's navigation screen just in front of me tracking where we were against the lights of the towns on the way up. Coming into Kaitaia apt on a skewed angle. And a small enough plane to raise my heart rate ever so slightly.
Digressing further ...
... why don't airports have viewing decks any more? Waiting at airports is as boring as batshit, but watching planes, especially big planes, isn't. Having a decent spot to watch planes land and take off would entertain a simple fulla like me ...
