Northland 2021 Review

What a disappointment most of our play was this year! We lacked direction, we lacked tactics, we lacked ideas and the ability to adjust our game as it evolved and moved. Too many players just looked like this level of rugby was beyond them, which I don’t truly believe is the case

Northland 2020 review

While it is easy to sit here and be disappointed at losing at the final hurdle, I think we need to step back and look at the season as a whole to get a better idea, and go right back to the start.

Northland v Otago

Not sure what word describes how I felt after that. Sad is probably it, sad for the likes of Matich, Robinson, Olsen, Pryor, Nock who have given thier all week in week out, maintained thier standards, but are let down by school boy errors from those around them.

Northland side named v Manawatu

That front row despite the 'greenhorns' should be pretty good at set peice, Olsen and Kearns are pretty mobile, Kearns looks a strong defender too, not seen Li but has pretty decent wraps on him (debut for us, but played for NH) from club footy

Northland Club Rugby: OBM v Kamo

OBM took the lollies 21-5. Kamo will struggle this season if they cant get any taller players for thier lineout, Tamati Tua is thier tallest player and he was not playing lock, I think they lost pretty much all thier lineouts.
